Dr. Ashley Jordan has said that her time serving as a Georgia P.O.S.T. Corrections Officer was one of her greatest learning experiences and shaped her future. Never again would she look at human beings the same way. This experience gave her a healthy balance of compassion and tactical resiliency. Her corrections experience at a State Prison outside of Atlanta, Georgia provided her with a Birdseye view of the tragedy that occurs within our communities on all sides. Dr. Jordan served as a member of the Honor Guard, Inmate Boot Camp Program, and with only a year in service, achieved the status of one of her institution’s senior officers. This small amount of time had the greatest impact on her personal growth. Her time at the Georgia Department of Corrections taught her unique survival skills, attention to detail, and equipped her with knowledge that no college education could provide. She was locked down 10-12 hours a day with minimum and medium security adult male inmates within the general population in addition to at-risk youth tried and serving time as adults and SB 440 offenders. Where most people would say such an experience would make them cynical, it gave Dr. Ashley Jordan an edge because she brings a balance of compassion and experience.  She takes this experience and uses it to help others everyday.

Dr. Jordan is a graduate of a FLETA certified and accredited Police Academy and then served for that same academy (later in her career) as a certified Police Academy Instructor.  Additionally, she was successfully certified as a California P.O.S.T. and U.S.M.C. Field Training Officer where she refined her ability as a hands-on trainer. She credits her time as a non-commissioned officer working in the Operations section for an MP Company in Southern California, her experience as a police supervisor, Corrections Officer, and Police Instructor for her ability to teach with passion, structure, and ability to keep the audience engaged. Dr. Ashley C. Jordan currently possesses a United States Government adjudicated, cleared, and active Secret Clearance.
